Ana Vujović is a visual artist and researcher whose practice moves across a range of mediums, including spatial installation, sculpture, digital art and drawing, often incorporating experiments with sound as well. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Painting Department. Since 2002, she has presented her work in numerous group and solo exhibitions in the country and abroad; some of the most prominent ones are: Trying to Grow Wings (MAD, Florence, Italy), Intimate/Outspoken (L'ATLAS Gallery, Paris, France), Evergreen (Ivo Andrić Cultural Centre, Beijing, China), Anticolonial Museum (Museum of African Art, Belgrade, Serbia), XX Pančevo Biennial: Refinery Monastery (Pančevo, Serbia), Islamic Art Festival (Sharjah Art Museum, UAE), NEXT BALKAN, (Vaska Emanouilova Gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria), Shelters of Babylon (Kibla Gallery, Maribor, Slovenia). She has participated in several artist-in-residence programmes in Greece, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Croatia. In 2020, she received the Sculptors of Serbia Award from the Association of Fine Arts of Serbia. Employing a mix of multimedia and digital, her work explores the post-analogue experience, actively questioning the individual’s position in relation to heritage, surroundings, society. Reflecting various influences, her work seeks a critical approach to history, canons, authorship. Ana Vujović’s work has been acquired by various cultural institutions and included in the several public and private collections in the country and abroad.
